We at EME would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone serving on the front lines of the Covid-19 crisis. We hope this message finds you and your loved ones happy and healthy. Our priority has always been the health and well-being of our clients and staff and in these times it will surely be at the forefront of our business decisions moving forward.

We have received our first set of guidelines from the State and County which we have outlined below. (This is subject to change depending on how COVID-19 guidelines evolve – please ask your reservationist for the most current guidelines).

  • Masks or Face Coverings – Per current regulations, each participant will need to have a face covering on while riding in company vehicles or while within 6 feet of other participants or guides for an extended period of time. We will have face coverings for purchase if necessary.
  • Trip Size – Our current guidelines allow us to take 4 guests and 1 guide per boat and utilize up-to 50% of our vehicles capacity. Since its inception, EME has focused on offering smaller more personalized experiences to our guests and will continue to make this a priority. We are hoping to see a small increase in this number by the beginning of June.
  • Reservations and Cancellations – We are answering phones and taking reservations daily. Give us a call if you need ANY information regarding traveling to Aspen, we will do our best to help! We have always had a 48hr full refund cancellation policy, but if you or your group are affected by issues related to COVID-19 we will gladly work with you on a case by case basis.
  • Our Team– We are doing everything in our power to help our staff through this tough time, diligently applying for loans and other relief efforts to help us keep our staff employed through the summer season. The EME staff will be required to undergo a temperature check and self report wellness or symptoms to a supervisor before each shift.

  • Fly Fishing – Every fly fishing trip we offer is a private experience with a max of 2 guests per guide. This will be a great option for people to get outdoors and enjoy the river. Nice, small groups in search of secluded river frontage to enjoy.

  • Lowered Private Trip Costs– We are easing our private trip costs to make this option more available to small family groups.
  • SUP Rentals and Shuttles – We are working on contactless practices to offer SUP Rentals for families seeking a scenic float close to Aspen.
  • Gear and Vehicle Sanitation protocols– The cleanliness of our gear and vehicles has always been a top priority at EME. On top of our current cleaning and sanitization protocols, we are staying abreast of all sanitizing protocols the CDC and State of Colorado will be requiring as businesses are allowed to reopen.

We will continue to monitor the recommendations put forth by local, state and federal agencies and will conduct our business accordingly. We at EME wish everyone health and happiness in these uncertain times. We truly believe that being in nature is essential to the human spirit. The Elk Mountain Family has a passion for being outdoors and EME at its heart was built around sharing that passion with others. We are looking forward to many more downstream adventures with all of you soon!
