Our Summer’s been off to a great start here at Elk Mtn Expeditions even though Mother Nature didn’t throw us much snow this winter. Slaugherhouse, our class IV local Aspen trip, ran great through May and June and we had many happy rafters out there. Famous for it’s waterfalls, tight turns and super splashy currents, experienced rafters and just those looking for a new adventure have been having a blast. With snow run-off coming to halt, we anticipate this trip coming to a stop within the next week. If you’re around this weekend, we do have some spots available for those looking to bump and grind with us down our guide’s favorite river.

Looking for excitement in the upcoming weeks? Have no fear! Our inflatable kayacks or as us professionals call them, “Duckies” can spice up any stretch of river. Just beware:

YOU are in charge of your own destiny on this trip; paddling, steering and nativating the river sucessfully will all be up to you. If you like the sound of surfing the rapids on a duckie-our office staff will be happy too discuss logistics, river conditions and plans with you! Bookings availible starting : Friday June 15th.

If you did have your corageous heart set on rafting, just a hop, skip, and a quick hour away, over the scenic Independance Pass is the famous dam-released Arkansas River. Our full day trips on Class IV Numbers with the option to test your skills on the notable Class V Pine Creek Rapid, might just be what your vacation needs. These trips aren’t for the sedentary type and age requirements of 16 must be met.

And of course, we can meet every family’s rafting needs on the Arkansas, by offering the Brown’s Canyon trip; Colorado’s most popular trip, that offers unique views of this national monument. Locally, Aspen’s most popular trip, on the Upper Roaring Fork will be a killer experience for family fun continuing through out the summer.

Us here at Elk Mtn Expedition realize that not everyone wants to fly down the river and for these reasons we offer beautiful paddle boarding trips through a local nature preserve and our river floats through the valley.
