Come check out one of Aspen’s most unique dinner experiences! The Smuggler Mine happens to host one of the best sunset views in the entire Roaring Fork Valley. Enjoy a tour of this piece of Aspen’s iconic mining history followed by a sunset barbecue dinner on the Smuggler Terrace.

The Smuggler Mine is the oldest operating silver mine in Aspen. The largest silver nugget ever mined, weighing 1,840 pounds (830 kg), came from the Smuggler. At its peak, the mine was responsible for nearly one-fifth of the world’s total silver output.

After a walk through the mine, your tour will end on the smuggler terrace where you will be greeted by an open fire, a buffet-style BBQ dinner and sunset views of downtown Aspen and Mount Sopris. Dinners are catered by Home Team BBQ and consist of brisket, chicken, mac n’ cheese, coleslaw, grilled veggies, salad and dinner rolls. Vegetarian, pescatarian, or kids substitutes are always available.
